Equipping a school or training centre with IT

Private schools, language centres, vocational institutes: IT serves both teaching and administration. Planned well from the start, the equipment lasts for years and is easy to manage.

The computer lab

  • Identical machines: easier to install, repair and replace;
  • desktops rather than laptops: sturdier, cheaper and harder to steal; all-in-ones save desk space;
  • an SSD and at least 8 GB of RAM for office work, 16 GB or more for CAD, video or programming;
  • restricted student accounts and automatic restore so every PC is clean after a restart.

Mobile training

For training in several rooms or at client sites, a laptop trolley is more flexible. For one-off sessions, renting equipment avoids buying machines that sit idle the rest of the year: see renting or buying IT equipment in Marrakech.

Network and Wi-Fi

Thirty students online at once will overwhelm a simple router. You need cabled desktops connected to a switch, professional access points in classrooms, and a student network separate from the administration network, with content filtering.

Administration

Enrolment, fees, payroll and report cards need reliable computers, a laser multifunction or copier that handles back-to-school volumes, and automatic backups of student and family data.

Budget tips

  • equip one room at a time with the same model;
  • keep 5 to 10% spare machines;
  • choose professional brands (HP, Dell, Lenovo) with easy-to-find parts;
  • schedule a yearly cleaning during the holidays.
